IDC Welcomes Mutaz Shegewi as IDC Health Insights Research Director, Provider IT Transformation Strategies

FRAMINGHAM, Mass., May 15,2017 –
IDC Health Insights today announced the appointment of Mutaz Shegewi to Research Director, Provider IT Transformation Strategies. Mutaz combines industry, professional, academic, technical, and global expertise in healthcare, policy, business, management, research, consulting, and medicine to empower executive, clinical, and technical healthcare leaders with meaningful, impactful, and critical insights to help them transform complexity to clarity in decisions that would enhance quality, decrease costs, optimize systems, and champion care.
Mutaz will lead the provider research practice covering topics of most relevance to healthcare providers looking to navigate strategic challenges in health information technology. Mutaz is passionate about strengthening healthcare systems through the interrelations between technology, patients, and providers.
Prior to joining IDC, Mutaz served as Business Development Manager / Enterprise Strategist at eClinicalWorks, a leading health IT company, working with large health systems and enterprise organizations seeking to apply innovative industry-leading electronic health record solutions. During his tenure, Mutaz was responsible for strategically engaging and aligning client health IT goals with successful outcomes that regularly touched on challenges in ambulatory and acute care workflows, population health, interoperability, and patient engagement. Previously, Mutaz served as a strategic adviser on several international healthcare projects, many of which were in uniquely challenging contexts. Mutaz advised an international consortium of four major global health agencies working on the assessment of the refugee burden on the Jordanian health system utilizing a digital clinical workflow instrument. He also served as lead consultant for the #1 hospital in the nation on an overseas emergency preparedness and response training program. Prior to that, Mutaz was involved in academia, research, consulting, and managerial roles.
